  • Click the Start button, click Settings, and choose Control Panel. (Oprima el menu Start, seleccione Settings y escoga el icono Control Panel.)

  • Double-click the Network and Dial-up Connections icon. (Oprima dos veces al icono Network and Dial-up Connection.)

  • Double-click the Make New Connection icon. (Oprima dos veces al icono Make New Connection.)

  • Click the Next button. (Oprima el botón Next.)

  • Select Dial-up to the Internet. (Seleccione la opción Dial-up to the Internet.)
  • Click the Next button. (Oprima el botón Next.)

  • Select I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN). (Seleccione la opción I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN).)
  • Click the Next button. (Oprima el botón Next.)

  • Select I connect through a phone line and a modem. (Seleccione la opción I connect through a phone line and a modem.)
  • Click the Next button. (Oprima el botón Next.)

  • In the Area Code field, type the area code of your local access number. (En la sección Area Code, dejela en blanco.)
  • In the Telephone number field, type your local access number. (En la sección Telephone number, tecle el número de acceso de su ciudad.)
  • Click the Advanced button. (Oprima el botón Advanced.)

  • Click on the Connection tab. (Seleccione la tábula Connection.)
  • Click the PPP (Point to Point Protocol) radio button in the Connection type area. (Seleccione PPP (Point to Point Protocol) bajo la sección Connection type.)
  • Check the box next to Disable LCP Extensions. (Agregue una flecha en la caja Disable LCP Extensions.)
  • Click the None radio button in the Logon procedure area. (Bajo la sección Logon Procedure, seleccione la opción None.)

  • Click on the Addresses tab. (Seleccione la tábula Addresses.)
  • Click the Always use the following radio button in the DNS server address area. (Oprima la opción Always use the following en la area DNS server address.)
  • In the Primary DNS server field, type 207.13.104.2. (En la sección Primary DNS server, tecle el número 207.13.104.2)
  • In the Alternate DNS server field, type 209.142.8.13. (En la sección Alternate DNS server, tecle el número 209.142.8.13)
  • Click the OK button. (Oprima el botón OK.)

  • Click the Next button. (Seleccione el botón Next.)

  • In the User name field, type followed by your SOFTCOM username. (En la sección User name, tecle su nombre de usuario de Softcom en letras minúsculas.)
  • In the Password field, type your SOFTCOM password. (En la sección Password, tecle su clave.)
  • Click the Next button. (Seleccione el botón Next.)

  • In the Connection Name field, type SOFTCOM. (En la sección Connection name, tecle SOFTCOM.)
  • Click the Next button. (Seleccione el botón Next.)

  • Click the Yes radio button in the Do you want to set up an Internet mail account now area. (Seleccione el botón Yes en la area Do you want to set up an Internet mail account now.)
  • Click the Next button. (Oprima el botón Next.)

  • In the Display Name field, type your name. (En la sección Display Name, tecle su nombre.)
  • Click the Next button. (Oprima el botón Next.)

  • In the E-mail address field, type your email address. (En la sección Email address, tecle su correo electrónico.)
  • Click the Next button. (Oprima el botón Next.)

  • Click the down arrow on the My incoming mail server is a __ server drop-down list and choose POP3. (En la sección My incoming mail server is a _____ server, oprima la flecha y escoga la opción POP3.)
  • In the Incoming mail server field, type pop.softcom.net. (En la sección Incoming mail server, tecle pop.softcom.net)
  • In the Outgoing mail server field, type smtp.softcom.net. (En la sección Outgoing mail server, tecle smtp.softcom.net)
  • Click the Next button. (Oprima el botón Next.)

  • In the Account name field, type your SOFTCOM username. (En la sección Account name, tecle su nombre de usuario de Softcom en letras minúsculas.)
  • In the Password field, type your SOFTCOM password. (En la sección Password, tecle su clave.)
  • Check the box next to Remember password if you would like to have your password saved. (Agregue una flecha a la opción Remember password si quiere que el program recuerde su clave.)
  • Click the Next button. (Oprima el botón Next.)

  • Check the box next to To connect to the Internet immediately...if you would like to connect right away to the Internet. (Agregue una flecha a la opción To connect to the Internet immediately…si usted quiere connectarse de inmediato al Internet.)
  • Click the Finish button. (Oprima el botón Finish.)

    Awesome! You are done and can now connect to SOFTCOM.
